Fleas and ticks are terrible this year! I can't count how many I've found on my clothes and it's only April. Shelly's Dog Grooming can do a flea bath for you, just give us a call and make an appointment.
I have also found several of my doggie clients with ticks on them so far this year. So, just a reminder now is the time to get out that flea and tick preventative. I recommend Vectra, but you should always consult your vet they are the only one that can tell you what's best.
Protect your canine friends
Shelly's Dog Grooming is offering new services for 2017. These services include limited dog/cat boarding in my home. At this time I am only taking smaller pets.
Also I am providing cat grooming services, as well as homemade dog treats. I make the treats in my home with no preservatives. These treats are made to order.
Hope to hear from you soon!

The holidays are coming up quickly, and we all want to protect our pets. Did you know that avocados, grapes, raisins, yeast (in breads and pizza crust), onion, garlic, and chocolate may make your pet sick or possibly kill them? So keep a good eye on your pet during the crazy holiday season!
Also there are plants that are toxic to pets, I have provided a website for you to check out. http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants here you will find a list of toxic and non-toxic plants.
Thanks for checking out my website!

Spring is finally here and I couldn't be happier about it. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter Holiday.
With the warmer weather coming it's time to start thinking about fleas. Sorry I know that's an unpleasant thought but we need to take action now (if you haven't been all winter). Some people believe that you only need to treat your dog for fleas in the warmer months, but that's not necessarily true.
At any rate if you are having flea problems give me a call I can help.

Happiness is a clean pup!
Getting your dog groomed on a regular basis is imperative. If you have a new puppy or are considering getting a new puppy - grooming should be in your mind. I understand that most of the time it's not a top priority when bringing home a new pup, but it's something that shouldn't be overlooked.
You should start your new pup out right away. Most groomers will give you a new puppy discount. Getting your dog regularly groomed helps your dog become accustomed to the grooming process and makes it easier for the dog and the groomer.
Even short-haired dogs should be groomed. They need a good bath and a nail trim to keep them healthy and happy, as well as the owner.
If you have adopted a dog, they should be taken to a trusted groomer so that they too can become familiar with the grooming process. I feel like many people overlook the importance of good hygiene
